Alistair's Tribute Fund

Welcome to our tribute fund in memory of Alistair. Thank you for visiting, and to all the numerous friends and family that have donated to this fund and continue to do so on a monthly basis. This tribute fund for Alistair is important as he was determined to do all he could to support continuing research into MND. Your kind donations have ensured that money dedicated to this fund is used entirely to support the finding of a cure for this illness. Alistair had Motor Neurone Disease for over 11 years, and during the time that he was mobile he was active in working with Kings College Hospital to assist them in their research. Becoming an active member of the research team helped Alistair in coming to terms with his illness. However as the trip became to onerous for him he had to rely on Internet information to satisfy his ongoing mission. This is why he would love this Internet Site and the Tribute Page. Alistair would like to be remembered for the active, fun loving rugby enthusiast and master builder that he was. Even when he first received the news of his diagnosis he was determined to keep himself fit undertaking rigorous fitness sessions in an attempt to support his body through the strain it was suffering, Like so many sufferers of this cruel disease Alistair bore his illness stoically and with the patience and courage that relatives and friends can only witness with huge admiration. Even towards the end of his life he still exhibited humour and compassion through the twinkle in his eyes. Alistair's final challenge was to reach his 50th Birthday and his 14th Wedding Anniversary, he achieved both, so very typical of his determination. If you have logged on and read this web site please sign the guest book and recount any funny or interesting anecdotes about Alistair so that we can all share in the celebration of his life, which may give us all some solace. Although his struggle was remorseless he never lost his enthusiasm for life, he will be greatly missed by his family, friends and Bess the sheepdog, his faithful companion.
